Echoes of Otsego: a Cabaret of Song Portraits

"This work finds the extraordinary in the ordinary—a bass player obsessed with motorbikes, a baker who carries the soul of a village, a survivor who finds faith, a seeker who discovers that home was what they were looking for all along."

Echoes of Otsego is a living, evolving work of art—part performance, part exhibition, wholly its own thing. At its heart are Song Portraits: original songs born from deep conversations with community members whose lives become music, performed by Keith Torgan with flutist Barbara Siesel. Alongside them hang Keith Torgan's larger-than-life 'oilish' portraits on aluminum, giving faces to the voices.

The stories are intimate and local, yet they reach far beyond one county's borders, touching on identity, belonging, resilience, and the quiet power of everyday life. Because Echoes grows with every new encounter, it is never quite the same twice—each presentation both artwork and gathering, an invitation to witness, reflect, and perhaps recognize echoes of your own life.

"So connected to life—to the lives of the people! So uplifting. Bravo!"
